Start with the arrival
We connect the airport, realistic exit time, transfer and hotel area before suggesting how to spend the first day.

About DayOneFlyer
DayOneFlyer helps travellers connect flights, airports, hotel areas, transfers and first-day plans before they book.
Why the site exists
Many travel pages show a flight, hotel or activity as a separate purchase. Travellers experience them as one connected journey. An inexpensive late flight can lead to a costly transfer. A well-rated hotel can be inconvenient for the places a visitor plans to see. A rushed first evening can make an otherwise good trip unnecessarily stressful.
DayOneFlyer brings those decisions together. Our guides focus on where to stay, how to arrive and what to check before committing money.
Founder and editor
I created DayOneFlyer because useful travel planning should be clear, honest and practical. The aim is not to tell every traveller to make the same booking. It is to explain the trade-offs so that you can choose what fits your own arrival time, budget and priorities.
I review the site’s priority guides for plain language, logical first-day planning and transparent commercial links. DayOneFlyer is based in South Africa and written for international travellers.
How we work
Travel details change. Our method separates practical guidance from live prices and terms that must be confirmed with the relevant provider.
We connect the airport, realistic exit time, transfer and hotel area before suggesting how to spend the first day.
A low headline price is not always good value. We consider transport, baggage, location, booking terms and the journeys travellers will repeat.
Official airport, transport and tourism sources are prioritised for practical facts. Prices, schedules and provider terms must still be checked before travel.
Affiliate links are identified and never change the price paid by the traveller. A commission does not make a partner the right choice for every trip.
Editorial independence
DayOneFlyer may earn a commission when a visitor uses an approved affiliate link and completes an eligible booking. This helps support the site, but it does not increase the price paid by the traveller and does not imply that a partner endorses DayOneFlyer.
We do not present changing prices, schedules or availability as guaranteed. Travellers should confirm the final total, cancellation terms, route and current official information before paying.
